From 1 to 17 February 2030, Olympic long track speed skating takes place in Heerenveen. Places to stay nearby will be scarce. We offer skating fans a quiet room in the woods, with breakfast and our own shuttle to the rink.

The 2030 Olympic Winter Games are held in the French Alps. As France has no suitable indoor 400-metre oval, the organisers chose Thialf in Heerenveen. This was confirmed on 29 June 2026: Olympic long track speed skating will take place in Friesland.
It is the first time Olympic winter events are held in the Netherlands. Skating fans from all over the world will travel to Heerenveen, and hotels and holiday homes in the area are expected to fill up quickly.
De Oorsprong is a 20-minute drive from Thialf, in the middle of the woods near Sint Nicolaasga. Spend the day in the stands and unwind in the evening at a listed stud farm from 1885.

Normally one group rents the whole house. During the Winter Games we also offer the rooms individually, per night.
